PGS message hits new Year 13s!

Phil Pittock from the UK Postgraduate Team delivers a compelling PGS message at the Student Careers Forum at Stoke-by-Nayland Campus last week.

Four Focus campuses – Linton Park, Stoke-by-Nayland, Wilton and York – hosted an inspiring event simultaneously on Thursday 30th August.  Named a ‘Student Careers Forum’, this is a new initiative that’s been rolled out globally by OneSchool and is designed to give Year 13 students a motivational boost as they enter their final year at school.

All new Year 13 students and their parents were given opportunity to attend one of these events, where they were treated to several excellent presentations.  These included a blend of live guest speakers – such as local business leaders – along with some inspirational input from global speakers, via video and audio recordings.

Throughout the day there was a very strong message about the importance of Postgraduate Studies.  Students were encouraged to make PGS part of their initial conversations with prospective employers, and to take up a course after leaving school – without delay.

These students have got a lot of work to do throughout their final year, not least in the completion of their CAP courses, but no doubt this event helped to give them some clear direction as to the continuation of their learning journeys after they exit the school gates for the last time in Summer 2019!

To Year 13 Students – if you have any general or specific questions about Postgraduate Studies, please drop a line to  Always delighted to hear from you!
